General AI chatbots know nothing about your patients, and pasting chart details into a consumer chatbot puts PHI outside your HIPAA safeguards. DociPal’s chat runs inside your secure workspace, covered by our Business Associate Agreement. Select a patient and the chat is scoped to that patient’s visits, transcripts and notes, so you can ask what changed since the last visit or what medications they are on and get answers from their record only.

DociPal does not connect to the EHR; it works on the page in front of you, the way you do: filling fields, clicking through screens and completing forms, with your approval before anything is saved. That covers web-based EHRs such as athenaOne, Practice Fusion, Elation, DrChrono, Tebra, eClinicalWorks, NextGen Office, AdvancedMD and Office Ally, plus payer portals, lab portals and any other healthcare website. Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner) and MEDITECH clinician applications run as desktop software rather than in the browser, so they are not supported yet. They are on our roadmap, and if your organization opens its EHR in Chrome, DociPal can work there today.

No. You only pay per provider: doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, PAs, and anyone else who generates notes. Front desk, admin, and other staff get full access to scheduling and patient management at no charge.

Yes. DociPal is HIPAA compliant and we sign a Business Associate Agreement with your organization. Under the hood: encrypted transport, OAuth 2.0 sign-in with secure on-device token storage, and organization-level data boundaries enforced at the API. Recording only happens after explicit microphone consent.
